Thanks for your submission. As you know, we had been looking at you for inclusion in this year's tour, and I think we had even been talking to you back and forth about the dates you would maybe be available. As of right now, we do not have a slot for you, but we had been hoping one might open as we started filling things out. This is why we had not yet responded to your app. However, our deadline has now passed (yesterday, actually), and Sonicbids has asked us to assign you a permanent status so that the application process for this year's tour can be closed.
Again, as I assume you were already aware of, we have been trying to work out a slot for you on this year's tour. But again, however, as it stands at this point (and again, this is the time that Sonicbids has required us to make the official final decision), we do not have slots for you.
Having said that, I want you to be aware that there is a chance that this could change in the near or semi near future. Due to the nature of a tour of this size and scope, and due to the very large number of bands that we work with, slots do reopen when circumstances beyond the control of the artists we have booked are, in fact, unable to keep their commitments.
You were an artist that our panel had really wanted to find something for, and we would like to find a place for you if one arises. The slots are full now, but life being what it is, we often have slots open back up. For that reason, I am placing you on a backup list of bands that we will contact when a slot opens up. You will have the option of accepting or rejecting that slot based on your desire and/or availability.
I know you probably wanted some feedback as to the notes our panel took when they reviewed your materials, and what, if anything, could be done to improve your chances in the future. With that in mind, I asked the Panel to give me at least a general sense of what they thought, and why you may not have been selected this time. I wanted to share with you the following feedback they gave me.
Here is the bottom line after our panel had listened to your music: They liked your music, and believe you have potential. You actually were in a pool of artists that they strongly considered and almost selected for the core of this Summer's tour, and they reached a consensus that they believe you are only going to get better and that they believe we would like to have with us in the future.
Due to the effort we make to blend the bands that are selected so that they complement each other, though, there simply were other bands that they felt were a better fit at this time, at the level they are currently at.
To be honest, this is a very contentious process and the competition for slots can be pretty fierce. There was some level of debate as to your selection, and I know that there was at least one or two of our panel who thought we should include you. It really was pretty close.
This is why we added you to the list that we would go to to fill the holes that I am sure will crop up over the next few months. Please be watching your email for us to contact you with offers of slots that may come available.
However, beyond any slots that may open back up for the tour this year, Extreme Tour Events also has some other projects coming up that we may be able to use you for. We have added your EPK to the list of artists we will consider for those opportunities as well, and I again encourage you to watch your email for our correspondence.
We will contact you in the near future should we decide to use you for those events. Thank you again for your application.
We would ask you to keep us appraised of the development of your music and career. We would like to consider you for next year's tour possibly as we believe you will probably only develop and improve. I especially think that we should stay in touch as there has already been real interest in you from Zach and Matt (our 2 primary A&R scouts. That bodes well for us working together in the future. So, this is not a no, it's a "not for now". Please do stay in touch. We will watch for your correspondence with us, and I will be in touch regarding these other opportunities.
Thank You, Again
